58th Annual Academic Congress 2025
Dear participants and esteemed guests,
It is truly an honour to take on the role of Chairman of Academic Activities and Research of the Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for 2025. Academic and research excellence are at the heart of our mission to advance women’s health, and I am committed to further strengthening these pillars in the coming year.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Improving Reproductive Health of Women, Challenges and Opportunities – An Evidence-Based Approach”, our academic programme will feature the Annual Scientific Sessions, workshops, webinars, and joint forums with local as well as international partners. These initiatives aim to equip our community with up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge while fostering innovation and empowering locally relevant research to address Sri Lanka’s reproductive health priorities.
Our focus will be on translating research into clinical and public health improvements, ensuring that the work we do directly benefits women, families, and communities. I encourage all members and beyond — from trainees to senior consultants — to actively contribute, collaborate, and share their expertise, so that together we can strengthen the foundation of knowledge and care in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Thank you.
